Volunteerism and Community Impact
The JLT is committed to building a better community through voluntarism. Members have many opportunities to serve both in their own community on worthwhile projects and within the organization of the JLT. Over the past seven decades, the JLT has sponsored and/or collaborated on more than one hundred projects. The JLT is highly regarded in the Toledo community for its ability to make a positive impact. Members can take pride in belonging to such an organization.
Training
Members are offered training courses, seminars, and workshops on a variety of topics that relate of personal, professional and community interests. Opportunities to attend Junior League sponsored state, regional, and national conferences and training sessions are also available to members. And, of course, the best training of all is “on-the-job” volunteer work that provides new skills and abilities for lifelong use!
Networking
Members work side-by-side, serving their community and forming lasting friendships. Networking opportunities also exist through collaborations with other community, state and national organizations.
Leadership Development
Members can develop core skills by serving on Junior League committees that transfer well into their personal and professional lives. Many Junior League members are subsequently afforded opportunities to serve on community boards and other local leadership programs.
International Membership Transferability
League membership is transferable throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Mexico, thus providing members with a network in a new community.
